After receiving treatment for acute bronchitis, the Pope, who is 86 years old, talks with a “weak and slightly breathless voice.”   A day after being released from the hospital where he was being treated for acute bronchitis, Pope Francis presided over the Palm Sunday liturgy that was held in St. Peter’s Square.   A crowd of more than 30,000 people had gathered in the Piazza as Pope Francis, who was 86 years old, came there in the popemobile.  Before driving the pope to the altar, the car made a stop at the old obelisk in the centre of the plaza so that he might bless the palm trees.   According to the reports of the Italian media, Francis began the mass with “a weak and slightly breathless voice.”   During his sermon, he urged the congregation to “look out for those who are by themselves” and “take care of those who are left alone.”  He stated, “There are entire communities that are exploited and left to fend for themselves,” and went on to explain this practise.  “There are migrants who are no longer faces but numbers, rejected convicts, and those classified as issues,” the author writes. “There are also persons who are categorised as difficulties.”   “I’m still alive,” the pope declared after being released from Rome’s Gemelli hospital on Saturday, where he had undergone a battery of tests after having trouble breathing and chest discomfort. The pope had gone to the hospital after suffering breathing difficulties and chest pain.  Outside of the medical facility, where he was greeting well-wishers, he consoled a distraught mother whose five-year-old daughter had passed away at the facility during the previous night.  When reporters asked him whether or not he had been terrified when he was in the hospital, the Pope said, “No, afraid no.”   Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, the vice-dean of the college of cardinals, provided assistance at the Palm Sunday mass on Sunday, which marks the beginning of a busy week in the calendar of the Catholic church leading up to Easter.   During his Angelus prayer, Pope Francis expressed his gratitude to the faithful for their “participation and prayers, which deepened throughout these past days.”     Caravan of Peace, a humanitarian expedition that recently left out from Italy to travel to Ukraine, was the recipient of a very heartfelt blessing from him.  “Together with basic requirements, they are bringing the closeness of the people of Italy to the battered people of Ukraine, and today, they are presenting olive branches as a sign of Christ’s peace. They are also conveying the closeness of the people of Italy.   “Let us link ourselves to this gesture with our prayer, which will be more intense throughout the days of Holy Week,” he stated. “Let us unite ourselves to this gesture with our fasting as well.”   During the various additional ceremonies that will take place throughout Holy Week, including a march that will take place by the Colosseum in Rome on Good Friday, the Pope will have the assistance of top cardinals.   On Wednesday afternoon, Pope Francis was sent to the hospital after celebrating the tenth anniversary of his election as Pope in March.  First, the Vatican stated that he had been hospitalised for a checkup that was already on his agenda; nevertheless, rumours began to circulate after previously scheduled engagements were postponed at the eleventh hour.  When the pope was diagnosed with bronchitis, doctors had already ruled out Covid-19, heart issues, and pneumonia through several tests.   While Francis was in his early 20s and studying to become a priest in his home country of Argentina, he underwent surgery to have a portion of one of his lungs removed.   He had surgery on his colon in June 2021, and since since May of the previous year, people have regularly seen him confined to a wheelchair or making use of a walking stick as a result of an injury to his knee.
