Tasty Treats Ice Cream Roll Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons water 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
3 egg whites, beaten stiff (room temperature) 1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted

Directions:
Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Set aside. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Cook over medium heat until the mixture reaches 234 degrees Fahrenheit on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat and stir in the corn syrup.
Stirring constantly, quickly pour the hot mixture into the bowl with the egg whites. Beat for about one minute until cool. Stir in the melted butter or margarine and vanilla extract to taste. Pour into an ice cube tray and freeze for at least three hours or until firm.
Once frozen, remove from tray and place in freezer-safe plastic bags to keep in your freezer until ready to use.
How to Make homemade ice cream
If you love the taste and texture of homemade ice cream, but don’t have an ice cream maker or a lot of time to churn, you can make rolls.
All you need is ice cream. And surprisingly, all you need to do is leave it sitting out. Treating your homemade ice cream like a pie crust will give you flaky layers and a soft and creamy texture.
Here’s how:
Step 1: Take scooped homemade ice cream and place it on a wax paper-lined baking sheet. Make sure there’s a few inches between scoops so they have room to spread out. Cover with plastic wrap and freeze for 30 minutes.
Step 2: Take the frozen scoops out of the freezer and remove the plastic wrap. Use your hands to roll the ice cream into tight balls, then return them to the freezer for another 30 minutes.
Step 3: Repeat Step 2 until you’ve rolled all your ice cream into balls. Return to freezer either overnight or until hard enough to serve without melting too quickly.
Eating an ice cream roll is a bit like eating a truffle — it requires some finesse and a little patience. The treat starts with a sheet of fresh waffle ice cream that is rolled up with the help of some caramel, nuts and whipped cream. Once rolled, the treat is then sprinkled with more nuts and drizzled with chocolate sauce.
There are many variations on how to make this treat. Some call for starting with a cake mix or other boxed item; others have you prepare everything from scratch. I’ve seen versions with all kinds of different fillings and frostings; some use only chocolate while others have multiple layers of ice cream flavors.
